I have been practicing architecture in San Francisco since 1991.  In that time I have worked on numerous projects in a variety of different offices as well as on my own. I have been particularly interested in working on projects in which art, technology, and materials are integrated into unique built structures. These often require a diverse team of indivuduals, with complimentary skills and areas of expertise.

Architecture provides a great counterpoint to media art. It is an inherently collaborative process in which the creative, technical, and construction processes are shared among varous project members (designers, engineers, builders, owners, etc). It is inherently physical and must address the issue of permanence. It must directly address its site and location, building and zoning issues. It is tactile, functional, and practical.
Conversely, architecture shares many ideas with media arts. It is spatial. It must be conscious of time. It is creative, colorful and dynamic. It is structural and technical. It has the potential to change peoples lives, thoughts and behaviior. Unquestionably, the study and practice of architecture Architecture is a major influence on my work and approach to art and life.
